Vectren Dayton Air Show Needs Volunteer Groups

BE PART OF AMERICA’S PREMIER AIR SHOW
EXPERIENCE PRIDE AND ENJOYMENT
EARN MONEY FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

The Vectren Dayton Air Show would not be possible if it weren’t for the 2,000 volunteers that give their time and talent to supporting our non-profit community event.  There is tremendous pride and enjoyment in being part of our team.  We are generally looking for service clubs or other organizations that can work during the show or in the weeks prior to the show.  For groups the air show will make a donation to your organization and provide refreshments and food at the Volunteer Center.  If your group is interested please review the current vacancies for volunteers listed below.  Thank you for your interest and we look forward to the possibility of hearing from you.

The Vectren Dayton Air Show Needs Volunteer Groups To Assist in the Following Areas:

Signage and Banner Installation
The show has literally hundreds of signs and banners that have to be placed beginning two weeks prior to, during and after the show.  Work involves mounting banners and signs on existing posts and fencing or in some cases placing mounting devices.  Groups or individuals with mechanical, construction or just plain good handyman skills would be ideal.  Neatness and pride in work quality is important in this area.  Work is done outside normally during the day.  Arrangements can possibly be made for evening or weekend work schedule. There is generally flexibility in scheduling with this assignment.  After the show the volunteer group would remove, inventory and store signage mounted.  We are looking for a group of approximately twelve people working in teams of two to fill this important assignment.

Facilities and Logistics
The air show has what seems like thousands of projects that need to be done throughout the show grounds prior to, during and after the show.  The work ranges from placing fencing, to distributing trash receptacles to painting to placing umbrellas, etc.  Work is done outside on the show grounds.  Groups or individuals with handyman type skills and familiararity with use of basic hand tools is a real plus. Ideally work would be done during the daytime but evening and weekend arrangements are possible.  Work is normally done one or two weeks prior to show and in some cases continues into the week following the show.  If you like to be outside and enjoy airport environments this assignment is ideal for you or your group.
