Making an appearance at the 2012 Vectren Dayton Air Show is Fat Albert, a C-130T, also known as the “Operational Workhorse” of the Blue Angels team. Since 1970, the team has used Fat Albert for logistics such as carrying the support personnel between shows and carrying spare parts and equipment. The nickname didn’t just appear out of nowhere – Fat Albert is 99’ and 5” in length and 38’ and 4” in height, and has a payload of 45,000 pounds! |
